"I thought it was amazing! I was totally transfixed, then when
I read your little blurb about how you wanted to capture the
essence and beauty of nature, I was like, yep, she’s
totally done that!.
So kudos to you and keep up the brilliant work!"

A few of
the Family of Fronds :O)

I try to
bring my fronds alive by flattering their own fascinating features.
The fallen palm fronds, 'no live fronds
have been used in this process', are mostly found
by accidental encounters, on a stroll through ferny forests or by faithful
friends dropping them at my front porch in the hope of initiating the
meeting of a new frond.
My family of faces are fabulous company, frequently funny and always
fountains of fun... They fraternize and frown over me while new faces
are furbished. Even though
my fronds are fortunate to be part of this ferny family, they will inevitably
be forced to flee their founder, find their feet (if that is at all
possible) and forage in the outer forests far from my fairytale fortress.. so
if any of you folk out there are looking to adopt a 'frond for
life' or would like me to fashion a fresh face, please forward
me your details via email (below) and I will get back to you as fast as I can.
"What
is seen on the outside, is a mask on the soul.
For if one looks deeper, they will unlock the true face."

frondly faces
My sculptures reflect my love of painting faces and the masks of the worlds colourful cultures. It all started many years ago with my 'Frondly Faces', painted on palm fronds, which inspired me to work with other organic objects, paper mache, wire and other hand-made mediums. I love to follow natures path and use the shapes and textures that she offers, then extend my designs with vibrant colors and eclectic touches.
Many of my works, you will find, are faces with eyes wide shut, to me it reflects the soul within and prompts the viewer to search for their own interpretation. What do you see within the FACE? The Mask is yet a face upon many hidden thoughts and ideas...
